At the Open Road Foundation, we aim to restore a sense of freedom, independence and pride to our wounded veterans by getting them back on the Open Road.

Our Mission

The mission of the Open Road Foundation is to help wounded veterans and their families recapture the uniquely American spirits of freedom, independence and pride that these patriots bravely fought and sacrificed to preserve for us all. We accomplish this mission by providing our veterans with handicapped-accessible, classic, American, sports, vintage or other vehicles that uniquely inure the new owners and their families with a sense of freedom, independence and pride that may have diminished for them since becoming wounded or injured. Restoring these uniquely American tenets within our wounded heroes is essential to their health, happiness and healing along the Open Road.

In Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, for every US soldier killed, seven are wounded. Combined, over 48,000 servicemen and women have been physically injured in the recent military conflicts.
